TRAVEL INFORMATION TO WINDSOR

A very helpful source of travel information is www.thamesweb.co.uk/windsor

By air:

Heathrow airport is only a few miles from Windsor. It is best to pre-book a taxi as the black cab taxis are very expensive. Details of taxi services are given at www.thamesweb.co.uk

A train service, Heathrow Connect, goes from the airport to Hayes and Harlington station where connecting trains to Slough (for Windsor and Eton Central Station) can be used.

There is a bus service from the Central bus station at Heathrow airport to Windsor, although it only runs every hour until about 8pm. The journey takes about an hour. The number 77 bus will stop opposite the Castle Hotel (ask for the Windsor Parish Church).

By rail:

There are frequent services to Slough (with connections to Windsor and Eton Central Station) from London Paddington, and a direct service (every 30 minutes) to Windsor and Eton Riverside Station from London Waterloo. This journey takes about an hour.

Eurostar trains now arrive at St Pancras station. The Northern line of the London Underground goes directly to Waterloo station.

By road:

The nearest motorway exit is junction 6 off the M4. There is little parking in the centre of Windsor and the central car parks are very expensive.

TRAVEL INFORMATION FOR WEXHAM PARK HOSPITAL

Wexham Park Hospital is north of Slough town centre. The post-graduate centre is best reached via the maternity entrance. Parking will be limited on Friday but should be easier on Saturday morning. There are pay and display places within the hospital grounds. There are frequent train services to Slough and it is then a 15 minute taxi ride to the hospital.
